I am a self-taught artist best known for my realist style of painting and surreal urbanscapes. I studied and graduated from Architectural Technology and worked in this field designing ski resorts, military instalments and executive homes. I took these technical skills and mixed them with my passion for art and my love of hockey, a game I played all my life in Canada's largest city, Toronto, Ontario.
I left architecture to pursue Fine Art, and launched this new career in 1995 with a painting of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs' goaltender -Felix Potvin. Since then I have been commissioned by numerous sports franchises (NHL, NBA, AHL), to capture 'their game' and star athletes. I have created unique and historically accurate pieces for universities, government agencies, public and private collectors. I also do custom goalie mask painting for clients looking to express their own personality. I work with many different mediums, including pen & ink, watercolour, gouache and acrylics. To my delight I now have pieces around the world, with some of them residing within the Rooms (Newfoundland & Labrador's largest cultural space); as well as Dublin Castle, Ireland and Buckingham Palace, England. I now reside in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, raising my two young girls in a busy hockey family. This city has a vibrant arts scene and deep cultural roots whose stories and people continually inspire and drive my imagination. I hope you find a connection to my artwork - something that helps you relate to a person, place, or event - real or imagined. I also hope the passion and energy I put into each piece allows the familiar world to be experienced through a little more imaginative lens.
